MINOR INTIMATE SURGERY

Hymenoplasty: hymenal reconstruction

Assessment and reconstruction of hymenal tissue in a confidential setting, with personal care and respect for your decision.

What is the hymen?

The hymen is tissue at the vaginal opening. Its shape, elasticity and the amount of available tissue vary from person to person. An examination helps assess these features and the reconstruction technique that may be suitable.

What the assessment involves

The consultation provides a private space to discuss your request, available tissue, health history and the circumstances of your decision. You should not feel pressured by a partner, family or anyone else. You may ask to speak to the professional alone or stop the examination. Sharing concerns about pressure, fear or your safety helps the team identify appropriate support.

How is it performed at Askabide?

The gynaecology team assesses selected reconstructions within minor outpatient surgery, under local anaesthesia. Laser may be used as a surgical tool; bringing the tissues together and closing them may require sutures. The procedure is explained individually after examination.

Results and personal expectations

The procedure reconstructs the available tissue, and the result depends on anatomy and healing. It cannot establish sexual history or ensure bleeding during later intercourse. Your expectations are discussed discreetly at the consultation so that you can make an informed decision.

Preparation and recovery

We explain preparation and aftercare, including hygiene and a temporary break from activities that cause friction. The date and follow-up are planned to allow time for healing. Advice on resuming intercourse is based on your recovery.

Care and support

Tenderness or discomfort may occur during recovery. As with any surgery, there are risks of bleeding, infection or changes in healing, which are explained individually before the procedure. You receive aftercare instructions and the clinic’s contact details for questions about your recovery.

Discreet contact

You may request a gynaecology consultation without describing the intimate reason in your first message. Agree with the clinic how you prefer to receive calls or messages. Avoid sending genital images or documents through general channels. Asking for information does not commit you to surgery.

Frequently asked questions

Can an examination confirm whether I have had sex?

No. The appearance of the hymen does not prove a person’s sexual history.

How is the procedure planned?

After an examination, we discuss the appropriate technique, your expectations and recovery time. Information and consent are provided before you decide.

Do I need to explain the reason on WhatsApp?

No. You can request an appointment and discuss the details privately with the professional.

Is an initial assessment needed?

Yes. It establishes the available tissue and whether a suitable reconstruction can be planned within minor outpatient surgery.
